Event Overview
About the Event:
SussXJam [Suss-ex-jam] will be a Jamboree style event held at Ardingly’s South of England Showgrounds aimed at bringing together young people and adult volunteers from across East Sussex. The focus of the event will align with the Scouts' current strategy of developing Skills For Life, but not just for young people. We want our adult volunteers to get as much out of this event as possible, which is why we will be offering an environment to undertake first response training, complete top awards, for those aged 18-24, and have fun while doing it!
Theme of the Event:
As mentioned before, we want to develop life skills. This event won’t just have bush craft activities and general camp shenanigans. There will be all kinds of stuff to get up to, from first aid to opening career pathways, from a silent disco to camp quizzes! We also want young people to develop social skills and push the boundaries of their comfort zone whilst offering a safe and inclusive environment to enjoy their time in.
Target Audience:
Scouting is open to all people aged 4 and up so why should SussXJam be any different? Well, it’s not! Whether you are a Squirrell or a Super Star Adult Volunteer, this event has something for everyone. Afterall, you are never too young to clamber up that climbing wall and you are never too old to jump on a bouncy castle!
